Duct Cleaning
Many companies claim that cleaning the ducts in your home will dramatically improve the air quality for your family. This isn’t necessarily the case. Although it’s true that dust can collect in your ducts, there is little evidence showing that the air flow through the home actually moves these dust particles into your family’s breathing space. The EPA recommends only cleaning your ducts as needed. If your ducts are undoubtedly clogged and are sending debris into your home via your supply registers, you should have your ducts cleaned. If you suspect that your ducts are infested with vermin or are harboring mold growth, you should also have your ducts cleaned. Unless there are large deposits of visible dust or mold, there is a good chance that your ducts won’t need to be cleaned. Many times there are under-lying problems that are causing the ducts to become clogged and simply cleaning them will not resolve your HVAC issues.
